Chance Upon Me: Day 37 - Hot Topic - Man of God misuses Church Fundingsut

This is like the hottest topic in town right now. The founder - Pastor Kong Hee of the largest evangelical church (City Harvest) was arrested for alleged millions of dollars in church and money to aid the career of his pop singer wife - Sun Ho. It was reported that at least $23 millions (US $18 million) was used to finance his wife's singing career. Well, what I am most curious behind this will be what are the thoughts of the believers and those who have been attending the church. Those who have contributed their hard-earned money.

To my surprise, many did not feel cheated because of this but have shown support to a man that have been proven to have use their money to aid his own financial needs instead of the better welfare of the church. I don't meant to be rude but will like to state my opinions on this incident.

So, what makes this church so attractive and this pastor so extraordinary? Below are some of the reasons I have brainstormed:

1. Feel in touch with God
(After going to this church, people did feel God making wonders in their life - hope this is the main reason)
2. Enjoyable Church Service
(The way of worshiping God in this church was through concert like church service, upbeat and cheerful music that are very different from other churches)
3. Cool place to go to for cool people
(Many of the church members are youngsters which are very self conscious wants to be part of the cool crowd)
4. Make new friends
(Due to the fact that this is a very huge church, people are bound to be many others that are bonded by Religion and same interest)
5. Have a second identity
(At a new environment, people could sculpture a new image and character to these strangers that eventually be friends)
6. Found love and relief
( Many goes to church to find spiritual support and this new group of people you know in church are very caring and makes them feel loved and support just like in a big family)7. Charming Pastor
(Pastor Kong Hee might have been a very charming and inspiring speaker that have very much influenced the believer's mind - they have seen him like an idol is similar to like Hitler who has very excellent public speaking skills that could charm his crowd)

Still I think this is rather disheartening and disappointing as although believers have strongly supported the Pastor saying that in him they trust. But is this what God really wants and teach. Are they following God or are they following Pastor instead? Hope that such incident will not happen anymore but recently don't know why got a lot of such cases of corruption and embezzled of company funds etc.

Oh Gosh, I am like getting too serious over this topic! All that I have written are just my personal and honest opinions. (City Harvest members don't start anti-me movement hor... kiasi* lol)

Have confirmed the person I would bring along for the Genting trip - proudly present the Big Sister (Sok's sister) but there is a little problem here she is doing a passport renewal now so I don't have her passport number and expiry date... lol but she will be collecting this weekend Yay so not a big problem. Although we are a weird combination la but we can be each others' roller coaster buddies!
And the most exciting thing is I HAVE THE SECRET!! After reading many famous bloggers blogging about how incredible and amazing this book is I was like searching high and low for it and I found it at Liang Courts - Kinokuniya. I think they still have quite a number of copies. Faster go before it's gone!

How can life get any better? To have a place with good ambience, nice drinks, dessert and good reads. Where is this place? Of course it the will be the ever famous Starbucks.

My Raspberry Bliss Muffin and Dark Mocha plus my latest read The Ssecret by Rhonda Byrne. I must tell all of you this, Sugar Alert- this muffin will get you on a sugar rush cause very mouth you take you will taste and bite the chunky bits of sugar but it taste perfect with hot coffee I think one moment a mouth of sweetness another bite of bitter. You are like tasting life, filled with bitter and sweetness. Only after tasting bitterness in life will you know how sweet life can also be and urged you to treasure very bit of this precious moment.
