Day 38 - Chill Out Session at Paulaner Bräuhaus

Finally the long wait is over, Friday is here! Went out for some drinks with my colleagues from other departments. Vonne had made a reservation at Paulaner Bräuhaus located at Millenia Walk directly opposite Suntec Convention Hall.

This is my first time there but it is kinda of Ah Pork's hangout place with Justin Koh (his JC and Uni buddy).
It is a German microbrewery and restaurant.

Have taken some pictures from their official website to show their decor for 3 levels.

Level One - Bar
With the crazy big brass container that they used to brew the beers. And that was like the stage for their live band.
Level 2 - Restaurant
This is where we dine.

Level 2 - Beer Garden
Their outdoor garden where you can drink and witness the sun setting in the buzzling city.

Level 3 - The Gallery
It overlooks the restaurant on Level 2. Great for private parties away from the crowd.

We were ushered up to Level 2 to the restaurant section. It has the German old street kinda of decor. Once we sat down we were like tourist busy snapping pictures of this place since it is also a first time visit for other 2 colleagues - Jann and Vennis.
The first thing that caught my eyes were actually their ceiling. It is really quite high up and has a small little window right at the top.

The pillar behind me was the pillar that links up to the small window. I think the pillar shows their road to success. Having this extended up to the sky I guess would probably mean to reach beyond the sky to higher heights?? That's my guess but not sure if it is really like that. The pillar...

Took pictures of the tables as well, really give people a little warmth and cosy feel.
Where the beer came from

Our food order...

Crispy pork knuckle with sauerkraut and bread dumpling. Crispy Pork Knuckle !! Very thoughtful for them to have remove the bones and serve the meat in slices. Although now it kinda of look like the Hong Kong roasted pork. The meat were tender and skin is really crispy it goes really well with the Lager. Slices of bread were served with butter and a special spread. Did not have a chance to take their pictures though.

Next, we have Paulaner sausage pan with 5 different sausages on sauerkraut 25 Thüringer, cheese sausage, debreziner, pork sausage and spicy Kolbazi sausage. Love cheese sausage and spicy one hmm... and the mash potato..

And our star of the day:
The One Litre Munich Lager and we order also the Munich Dark. Both were the in house brews.

The one on the left is the Munich Dark and the one on the right is the Munich Lager. Although I am not a huge fan of beer (not like Ah Pork - that is 70% where he gets his belly from) but I think their brew is really nice. The texture is smooth it just flow smoothly through from your mouth through throat and down just like sliding down the slide. Lager has a lighter taste while the Dark has a stronger and malty flavour which I prefer. Lager goes very well and compliments main courses as it is lighter in flavour does not affect the food that you will be tasting and even adds a bit of fragrance to it. As for Dark, I feel it will be like the drinks to go with fingerfood like potato wedges and calamari. Good drink over like chit chat sessions or while pouring out sorrows. See I talk like I am a beer expert lol!
Camwhoring time with our beers...
Sweet Vennis

Sophiscated Vonnie

Cool Jann

What kind of expression is that Me?
I look horrendous in this photo but it shows how good the beer is lol...No image at all with the rolling white eyeballs...OK don't zoom in or expand the photo can? Really look sucky..hahaha
Went down to their bar on Level 1, another cool place with live band music and booze.
Nice songs played too! Though I was startled a bit when I heard like 听海 by 張惠妹. Good place to chill on Friday nights.
