Hehe super smart me took leave today so I will get a 4 days rest from work...Phew but poor Sopfina my partner at work would have to cover my ass for me. No wonder nowadays she had transformed from this
to....
due to my sick episodes and incorrigible leave taking .. I am sorry, Sopfina.. If you die on the job, I will need
to take partial responsibility for that (-_-)
Oh, yesterday we met Liling at Airport when Sof passed the Taiyang Biscuit she bought from Taiwan. As always, Triple L is still slim and slender and doing very well. Now she is working at Changi Airport! Feel happy for her, luckily she didn't stay here with us or not she will be still running with papers out from the printer room like what Lynnette (our new colleague) does. Shall organise a meetup soon so we can update each other with our life =)
Talking about the long weekend what are all of you doing? I guess some of you will go on a trip! I am going to chop my hair and redyed them today!!
They look pretty cool, the colours faded to brown with bright red highlights but I am a bit sick of them. This is how they look now
I want Ash colour hair now!! And guys I got my variable bonus, but I don't think it is even enough for me to do my hair well, what you get will be affected by your work performance. I think I must have scored badly for that and probably my boss don't see any good in me or my work. I must emphasize this job kinda of "jinxed" me. Ever since I started working here, I have been falling sick don't know if it is Feng Shui or what. Cause I have NEVER EVER keep taking MC at other jobs I have done not even my part time job. For 2 years of working my part-time job, I only took MC once (1 time only). Argh...
Oh no I am late for the appt!!
Full of surprises (I don't know what I am going to blog about too!) Welcome to my little world filled with love, fun and nonsensical stuff...

Shitty Work Week
Seriously, please forgive me cause I am going to whine and complain about my life. I rarely do that only to people close to me so all of you reading my blog are the privileged ones (all of you probably want to kill me, if privileged = receiving all my rubbish...)
Apart from my unhealthy lifestyle and overweight body, I need a break from my life. Working 5 days a week on a nerve racking job and a part time job over the weekends. Had kinda of suck me dry.... Don't really had much time for rest.
This week was particularly AWFUL...Ever since I started working perm for the job, I had kept falling sick like once a month. I had never work in other jobs that I fall sick so damn often to the point that I secretly think that my boss must have thought I was faking it and dying to sack me...And now, that I am down with
FOOD POISONING! Worse cause I am supposed to cover Sof while she is overseas.
And this is the only time I had to update my blog...how pathetic is that...
Maybe I have to look for another job before I get killed on the job!
This is how the cycle goes:

I am so lucky!!
Lucky girl me was running through my emails on phone and saw this sweetest direct message tweet!
I won a pair of tickets to watch the new animated movie- Paranorman!! Will share with you my reviews on this film after I watched it so stay tuned!!
I got to know about this movie while working part-time in the library as a form of promotion, NLB is giving out the Paranorman stickers if you borrowed 6 items and present your receipt during the promotional period and if you only borrow 4 items you can get the bookmark!
I love to watch animated movies or what people called cartoons. I was learn something after watching these films. So excited about it!!! Big Big Thank You to Nuffnang for organising such awesome giveaways!
I have many things I need to do over the weekend:
1. Go Natas Fair and compare prices like Aunties
2. Work
3. Meetups with Uni friends and Genting buddies!
4. Watch Paranorman (liked)
5. Pack my room
6. Finish reading "The Secret" and put it to practice.
Only halfway done with the book, but I think it is working- for instance, this morning I took a cab to Bedok to chase after my company bus. The kuku driver send me to the wrong place, he dropped me at a hawker centre that was not the one nearer to the company bus pickup point. In my mind, I visualise that I reached the pickup area and the bus came when I reached. I was initially abit scare as my watch is already 7.47am which is 2 minutes late, but amazingly, I managed to find my way and reached the designated pickup point and just like what I have visualised I managed to board the bus. The scene was at least 95% identical to the one I have visualised earlier!!
I am so going to challenge what people deemed as impossible, recently I keep telling Ah Pork, I am growing taller at mid twenties lol. They think I am crazy but I really did grown taller by 1cm before even reading this book. I am going to change my life with this powerful book!!
Tomorrow is the department meeting that I don't really look forward to. I am going to do a presentation ~ I am going to test out the laws of attraction once again by thinking I am a very good public speaker to see how it goes tomorrow! Hahaha wish me luck or rather wish me abundance (greedy haha abundance sounds like every aspect of life is included).

A Happy Refugee - Day Two
I bought a stainless steel bangle for myself the other day and was thinking of engraving meaningful quotes that mean a lot to me on it. I bought the bangle at $42 in an accessories shop called Silver Corner at Bugis Junction. I made an enquiry on their engraving services - a word is $5 each if I never remember wrongly.
I am dumb folded..Cause I did not intend to engrave some cheesy couple initials or even my own name, given that my quote has like around 12 words, it will cost me $60 which is more than the price of the bangle like WTH. So I have been searching high and low for a place that has a reasonable price for it. And guess where I found it? Hougang Mall - the place where my part-time job is located at. Initially, I went to this more hip shop called Blackoutz located on Level 3 which apparently target audience is like teenagers which I suspect would have engraving service, true enough there was but they said that the shape of the bangle can't fit their machine (they charged $5 for the first word and subsequently $0.50/ letter = $24) But too bad, they couldn't do it for me.
Then I went to this accessories shop with quite an interesting name (Dong Xi Nan Pei) located on Level 2 next to Dessert Story and very near Harvey Norman. It sells mainly 925 silver accessories and have a whole long list of accessories services such as cleaning and polishing accessories, fixing accessories, customisation of crystal and precious stones jewellery. And I saw engraving!! Yay... And the shop quoted me $28 and without hesitation I said YES!!
Here's my bangle with the engraved words on the inner area... I did not choose any font, but the final product was just like what I imagine it to be. It was perfect!! The most amazing thing is that it is hand crafted it is engraved by hand, no templates or stencils!!!
The quote I had was " Live your beliefs and you can turn the world around"- Henry David Thoreau.
To me, I feel that it is important to hold onto one's beliefs and values, these are what make people who they are and how are unique in a sense. By doing so, one can make a great difference in life or the world around you. In life, there are always situations that may pressurize you to make decisions that are against what you believe in and having to follow your heart and do what you want to and deem as right will prevent you from having things to regret for not doing or did.
It is also how I live my daily life and I hope by carrying it with me all the time, it will remind me to make just decisions in life. As I always believe that "Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice"- William Jennings Bryan.
I am proud to say I did what I wanted to do in office after my attachment with the SP - I had feedback on the workng conditions of the SP of my company to my big boss - some badly maintained driver seats and trolley after the sharing session of our company's policy book reading. And just happen that the reading chosen was on open door policy which means that you could voice out on what you feel there is a need to change, conflict or unhappiness to any of the people in a higher hierarchy. And I took this opportunity to talk to my big boss - Director of Marketing about it even though it was not really of a concern that is related to my job scope. Really hope what I did could help my fellow colleagues from other business units.
And another mission accomplished would be Ah Pork and I finally went to watch Brave.
Story about legend, courage and family bonds. Princess Merida who wishes to live a free life was tied down by DunBroch tradition to marry one of the Lord's son. She is out to change her destiny with a cost to pay, which had endangered her family. However, she is determined to fix it. Can she really change her destiny and fate and mend what she had broken? This is a great animated movie not to be missed. It show us that every decision comes with consequences and sometimes it is not always what we expect it to be. Family bonds are stronger and harder to break if only members of the family would listen each other out and clear any misunderstanding. Every parent love their child dearly and is always there for them, to repay their love, we could only stand by them, love them and protect them whenever we could.
A touching story that makes you think twice about your relationship with your parents and family. Remind you the importance of a strong and loving family.
Ah Pork and I had our sweet treat for the day at Saybons.
Saybons the French Food Factory. I am there for my crepes! Yay, other than crepes they have pretty decent soup - e.g Wild Mushroom, Potato and Leek and Broccoli and Cheddar. They now served escargots (yes, snails) but I have yet to try.
Interesting facts about the soup here...Took the picture while waiting for my crepes.
Clean and simple with a pinch of French flavour decor. Their first outlet was in Plaza Singapura it started as a takeaway store and slowly expanded to have sitting area and now new outlets.
My piping hot Nutty Nutella Crepes!
Ah Pork and his Banana...Banana and Chocolate Crepes!

I think if the spread inside the crepes is more generous, it will taste even better! Hmm...prefer the Plaza Singapura outlet (>-<)

One Day Experience as a "Branded Delivery Man"
People who know me would know where I work at. Logistics. Brown. Ring a bell?? The some sort of Atas Logistic firm whose presence in US is much muchie bigger than it is here! Well, new hires ok maybe not so new will go on an attachment with the SP (erm. what people commonly regard as deliveryman / courier man).We are supposed to deliver goods to our beloved customers learn more about logistics and how it works.
For today's attachment, I have Sophina and Yvonne with me together in the ill-fitting, baggy brown uniform haha the sizes don't really fit us well :(
Here they are, their best SP pose (with our brown cute vans)

OMG! I look seriously retarded..But well, at least I made you all laughed right? Just hope my company does not issue a warning letter to me for having crazy pose in uniform (risking my job to take a photo!)
Well, this is before we go deliver our parcels - we are very serious when it comes to work well this shows that we can have fun and work balance *wiping sweat on forehead*

After going for pickups and delivers with our SP, you will know what is called blood sweat money (money earned with sweat and blood - tough money). It is not just what we thought it is, scanning packages and just carry to customers. They have to plan their route very well like some special police unit going to catch fugitives, use technology given like IT experts, walk in speed of light, have the strength of Hercules, patient like a teacher, courteous like courtesy lion, dedicated to their job and able to withstand extreme weather. They are like superheroes can!
Rain or shine, their packages are always their first priority! You shelter your goods in rain instead of yourself...It is a normal day for them but like an extreme workout for me, I didn't even carry parcels only getting up and down the van and walk around I already half dead. That is probably why the SP who is in charge of industrial area so fit! Happened to be attached to Uncle Chung and chatty me had be bugging him the whole journey asking him about his job, his view on our company and some family stuff.
This is superhero Uncle Chung handling the Kaki Bukit area
Friendly, Down-to-Earth, Super Nice! Guess how old he is? He is 52 this year!!! I not yet 52 already like a balloon and he still strong, fit and healthy!! Manage to snap a shot of him before I go back to UPS House.
We pickup via a scary looking (like going to breakdown anytime) cargo lift
Uncle Chung said he sometimes needs to pick up 34 packages like this!!! 34 wooden plank packages x 20kg each = ?? You do the maths...And this is only one pickup and he had at least 12 pickups a day that is not inclusive of packages that he have to deliver!!
He is also like a Doraemon - has lots of pockets and compartments (can find old-flower spectacles, staple, pen, envelope, tag, Diad etc. Diad is the machine where they scanned the package, ask customer to sign, receive pickup location and details. According to our company website : It is the most comprehensive tracking device, combining data collection and transamission technologies; digital signature capture , expandable memory and rugged construction to withstand extreme temperature and hard falls.
It looks something like this:

While Uncle Chung was looking for the delivery place, useless me was camwhoring on van...
Felt a bit weird in the uniform, cause people look at me in a very weird manner. Think they never see female SP around, maybe I should consider doing part-time SP after I get my driving license? Can confirm lose a substantial amount of weight!
Uncle still treat me to Hokkien Mee and Teh Bing for lunch. Maybe we both Hokkien so eat Hokkien Mee lol! Own people!
Went back to UPS House for briefing on our warehousing...
We are back in our civilian clothes...Me and the pallets and heavy packages in warehouse during briefing!
Before heading home,
Pretend to drive a UPS Tutu Van which was used a long long time ago.
Yvonne 's turn to take photo with the Tutu.
Muahahaha we are like tourists! Probably because we stationed at Alps??
Day 45 - Last Day
Well, time really flies. Today we witness the last day of many things. Technically, today is the last day for me to handle my Vietnam, last day of Yanisa and also the last day of Regina's faithful car.
As boliao* (hokkien term. meaning very bored and without anything better to do. Has negative connotation) as usual, I decided to take pictures of Yanisa doing some of the things she will not do for a while after she stopped working here.
Here she is scanning stuff and sending back to countries....
Washing bottles in the pantry...
Well we went to E-hub's Streets Cafe for lunchie
This is the all time favourite:
Nissin Maggie Mee with Luncheon Meat!
Well I just hate egg yolks that are not fully cooked so for my noodles
So this is how I cook my egg yolk..Over turn the egg to cook it but it kinda of failed attempt. In the end the egg yolk did not cook at all ...
Our imaginary race queen, Regina with her faithful car which have been taking us out for lunch all these while.
I think we need Regina to practice more poses first cause this don't look like showgirl pose more like help people open door at hotel kind..lol
Went dinner with Celine and Mua Eng (my primary school mates) I know right it is amazing, we still keep in contact. Like we have known each other for more than half of our lives- from the weird mushroom hairstyle to now all glam up haha (for them la)
Food attack at TCC (1-for-1 main course and pasta)
I stole the pictures from Celine's Instagram haha
There is vegetarian dish - some mushroom patty one was really nice better than the Pasta. (Pasta was abit tasteless and the noodles were dry somehow)
Excited I took part in Bong Qiu Qiu (famous blogger in Singapore) her Hello Kitty giveaway contest
See so many goodies. Hope I will win! Wish me luck..

Day 44 - Oh no can't blog about work liao!
Major downward spiral at work...OMG my colleagues read my blog.. Haha I can't blog about work boo! I am going to have to think of my career path to tell my new boss lol I think I wanna be a millionaire or an American Idol muahaha...
Luckily I got another Changi Millionaire ticket that gives me like 15 chances! I will just quit the job if I win the money.
Well I really couldn't find my earphones at work and I have searched everywhere. Being someone that can't do without music, new earphones for me.
Can't reveal the price of this cause Ah Pork will strangle me to death! I could only say this is even better than the one I lost!

Day 38 - Chill Out Session at Paulaner Bräuhaus
This is my first time there but it is kinda of Ah Pork's hangout place with Justin Koh (his JC and Uni buddy).
It is a German microbrewery and restaurant.
Have taken some pictures from their official website to show their decor for 3 levels.
Level One - Bar |
![]() |
Level 2 - Restaurant |
This is where we dine.
Level 2 - Beer Garden |
Their outdoor garden where you can drink and witness the sun setting in the buzzling city.
Level 3 - The Gallery |
We were ushered up to Level 2 to the restaurant section. It has the German old street kinda of decor. Once we sat down we were like tourist busy snapping pictures of this place since it is also a first time visit for other 2 colleagues - Jann and Vennis.
The first thing that caught my eyes were actually their ceiling. It is really quite high up and has a small little window right at the top.
The pillar behind me was the pillar that links up to the small window. I think the pillar shows their road to success. Having this extended up to the sky I guess would probably mean to reach beyond the sky to higher heights?? That's my guess but not sure if it is really like that. The pillar...
Took pictures of the tables as well, really give people a little warmth and cosy feel.
Where the beer came from
Crispy pork knuckle with sauerkraut and bread dumpling. Crispy Pork Knuckle !! Very thoughtful for them to have remove the bones and serve the meat in slices. Although now it kinda of look like the Hong Kong roasted pork. The meat were tender and skin is really crispy it goes really well with the Lager. Slices of bread were served with butter and a special spread. Did not have a chance to take their pictures though.
Next, we have Paulaner sausage pan with 5 different sausages on sauerkraut 25 Thüringer, cheese sausage, debreziner, pork sausage and spicy Kolbazi sausage. Love cheese sausage and spicy one hmm... and the mash potato..
And our star of the day:
The One Litre Munich Lager and we order also the Munich Dark. Both were the in house brews.
Camwhoring time with our beers...
Sweet Vennis |
Sophiscated Vonnie |
Cool Jann |
What kind of expression is that Me? |
Went down to their bar on Level 1, another cool place with live band music and booze.
Nice songs played too! Though I was startled a bit when I heard like 听海 by 張惠妹. Good place to chill on Friday nights.
