Mini Gathering with Stephanie and Amanda + Why bloggers take photos of their food?

Well, it was supposed to be like a gathering for the bloggers and friends who went for the Nuffnang Genting Trip. But apparently, the other bloggers are all occupied, unavailable or uninterested after a few attempts of contacting them (You all broke Amanda's heart-Hmph). Just kidding la, the truth is that we will love to have you guys join us!

I miss the times ...cameras are the first thing we took out where every new dish were placed in front of us...looking for the right angle and snapping nice pictures of the food were our priority...

It is a really strange feeling when you know people from other tables are looking at you like *ermm...seriously you all really need to snap photos of your food to that extent?* but you will be able to dismiss others' stare and still feel that you are the cool ones and that they are the weird ones hohoho (-_^)

But, I have to admit before I blog, I used to be the ones wondering why people have to take pictures of their food until you have joined them you will never know the joy of  snapping this perfect photo of the food that could just show the world how amazing the taste is by just looking at the photo (a tiney winey bit sense of achievement is there, it will become greater when people tell you the food looks amazing!) So, people who are not doing that, try out start with dishes that you have tried and loved post them on your instagram.Warning, it is highly addictive!

Alright shall cut the chase, love to share with you guys the yummy food we had!!!

As usual, I am late so didn't join Stephanie and Amanda for lunch at Ninethirty = (
But we went to Au Chocolat....to satisfy my craving for Truffle Fries!! Thanks Girls for being so accomodating *teary...so touched* !!

Here we are, it has a cool seating area. I personally think it has the " Street Cafe of Paris Feel". But, the area isn't open for seating that day according to the waitress.

The Menu

Our Drinks
Out of courtesy, I should still introduce the drinks we had ermmm..which I kinda of forget the names *Pardon me of my short term memory..OK it was 1 week plus ago hor* Amanda and I had some Fizzy Drink mine was minty taste like mojito?? I prefer Amanda's fruity fizzy drink which has berries, Stephanie has her Earl Grey Tea...or was it Camomile?? Ok we will just skip the drinks cause it is nothing really fantastic if not I would have remember...hoho
Our Food
Not quite ...one of the dish was accidentally placed on our table. Yes, it was tempting to stick our forks in but we are good people and we didn't ate other people' food.
We had...
Go Nuts with Salted Caramel
Crepes, Crepes, Crepes...Do you love nuts? What I like about this crepes will be the generous serving of roasted hazelnuts. The mixed scent of Caramel with Roasted Hazelnuts just hit the "tuck in button"in the back of my head. But I think it will taste better if more caramel was drizzled over it. But we loved it! Hmm how can I describe this...*it resembles the feeling when your primary school teacher had comments on your composition on how you can improve but still gave you the golden star sticker you want* ( Me and my weird descriptions) The first bite, you will feel like something was missing and until you get a spoon of the ice-cream, you had it all figured out. The vanilla ice-cream had very well compliment the savoury caramel and crunchy nuts! Go Nuts People!
Chocolate Bonanza
Amanda's Chocolate BON-ZAI!! Hahaha...she thought it was the Bonzai when we first saw the name!
It has Stephanie's lava cake that didn't have much lava ooshing out (disappointed), mousse cake with cookie base and ice cream coated with chocolate!~ Screaming Choco-Late! The cake and ice cream was quite nice only if the lava cake has 心太软 it will be perfect!
Truffle Fries
People who knows me well will know how much I love eating fries. Fries never fail to make my day! And I love truffle fries and this was supposingly the best truffle fries in Singapore ( other people say one)
Maybe I already had the bar set high for it, sad to sayapart from the aroma of the fries from the truffle oil don't really think it was the best Truffle Fries I ever tasted. Maybe I am biased haha I prefer the fries from Dempsey's Barracks and Coastal Settlements :)
Sorry Au Chocolate!! Next time, I will probably try more desserts but skip the fries....

After our apparently sinful snack and dessert, we need to burn it off with a 'after food stroll" along Marina Bay. It is time to show the artistic side of Me again...

Photo I took on this special Sunday evening.. The white floating thing protuding out of the water spoiled my picture!! Don't know what was it for..I was guessing it was where the lights projected on Avalon came out from? Anyone knows what was the thing for can enlight us ya....
It was quite beautiful at night, if only we had the time to stop, look and appreciate the beautiful things we had. Only then we will realise how fortunate we are...

I also discovered the group of hipsters...not young but definitely Hip!
Aunties and Uncles doing Line Dancing along the bay!! Cool right!!
Also notice people jogging there too~! I think it will be really shiok to jog there cause it's windy, there is nice scenery and good place to people watch too. If you are tired and bored of staring at the treadmill counter on calories burned, you can get a couple of friends and jog here...
Sparkled the little light in me wanting to jog...hmm think again...maybe not haha!

Will definitely go checkout cool and new places for brunch and organise more outings and meetups with Stephanie and Amanda soon!! Just another lovely picture of us (our #OOTD)
Please imagine us 3 times taller!!
We are not this short hoho it is the dimension of the photos...
For those who do not know, yes that's me the short and fat ball in the middle, on the left is our leggy beauty - Stephanie (aka missnockie) and on the right, it is our Fashionista - Amanda (owner of petiteloft)
For nicer pictures of us  them, you can visit their blog by clicking on the links next to their names!!

Everyone have fun blog surfing~!

The Blogger Come Back! Nuffnang I Heart You!

*Drum Rolls* + Applause...
I am making a comeback into the blogging scene, this time I am making it BIG! lol
Actually nothing like that just want to make my "so called comeback blog post" more dramatic. haha
Tons of stuff happened during the time when I was on blogging, but I felt very guilty to not blog for so long and still have to face to say I am blogger (-_-)
I was going to blog and try to pay off my " blogging debts" (blogging debts - first known to be from Stephanie, friend I know from the Genting Trip) YES YES YES we are still in contact, we have a shared group chat on WhatsApp and we are planning to meet in Dec after my Korea Trip.
Opps nobody here have been updated about the trip as yet, haha I am going Korea this December *Wee~
23 more days to KimchiLand!!
I was trying to say although many people in the blogging scene are sometimes a bit fake and very realistic, I am glad I have made really down to earth and true friends during the trip! They are really a bunch of sweeties  who will always update you on the latest online contest, update you with latest interesting news and interesting stuffs in their lives. So sweet and cute of them - mainly those in our Calm and Cool Blogger Group Chat like Stef, Vonnie, Mei Hui. Some other lovelies like Ziwei & Quinie la. Must say I never regret taking leave from work to go for the trip. I am so grateful that I have such lucky and fortunate stuff keep happening in my ordinary life.
I think life kinda of slowly changes when I joined Nuffnang, it begins with small contests like winning movie treats from them to sponsored trips. It is so amazing cause I am those kind of people that never win anything in lucky draw kind always get the "Thank you for your participation" note one. Nuffnang has opened many little doors of opportunities and I enjoyed every little bit of it. And I am a half official G+ member (receive the phone call le still waiting for the email)!

Look forward to knowing more interesting friends and more fun-filled events!!
Digress Digress wow I am quite amazed by my self distracted skills, actually I was going to complain about that when I was about to set up my mind to blog about Mid Autumn (I know its like expired for 2 months already since Mid Autumn is like in Sept and now going Xmas) *Stressed Max still got around 120 pics to upload, I got a notification that looks like this
Unable to upload photos as Picasa space limit have reached...
*Pull Hair*
Now I am loading my photos to this mejuba photo storage place hopefully I can start my blogathon tomorrow night.
So right now, just paying some interests first with this post lol!

Since I love Nuffnang so much, I must do abit of advertising for them here, Nuffnang have come out with the improved blogging platform called Nuffnangx, can download the iphone app or android app, it brings blogging to a greater heights. You can follow your favourite everywhere you go (provided you are with a phone and internet connection), there is direct chatting avenue to reach out to your favourite bloggers. Cool stuff!
You can learn more about it here:

Movie Treats From Nuffnang!! Paranorman Here We Come!

I am such a lucky girl! Or could it be that Nuffnang love me?? I won movie tickets to watch the preview of Paranorman 3D! Created by United International Pictures - Paranorman is never the usual animated movies that we watch nowadays. See this video and you will understand
Do you all remember there was a film called Nightmare Before Christmas?

This film by Tim Burton also uses the same method - with handmade puppets and changeable expression.
Bought my tag-along...who other than my Ah Pork
Don't feel jealous of us okie? Here's a trailer of Paranorman for all of you...
It is a story of Norman Babcock who lives in the small New English town of Blithe Hollow. Unlike his peers, he is born with a special talent which is he is able to see and communicate with ghost. But, everyone did not believe him not even his family members and he got bullied in school. Due to a curse of the town, he became a hero.
Can't tell you the whole story la , you all go catch the movie yourself!
But, I can tell you what I have learnt from this movie.

What can we learn from Paranorman?
  • It is alright to be different from the rest, every individual is unique.
  • Brave and be true to yourself
  • In difficult situation, have faith and trust in yourself
  • Adults are not necessarily correct all the time
  • One should learn from their mistakes, own up, apologize and be responsible for what he / she have done
  • Learn to forgive
  • Be grateful for what you have, count your blessings
  • Family bonds are tighter than anything else
  • Loyalty as a friend
Guess what surprises we had? We were given Paranorman Stickers after the movie!!
Cool Stuff right!
Last but not least, Big Thank You to Nuffnang, United International Pictures and Cathay!! If you wish to know more about Paranorman, do visit their website, Click here : Paranorman

Maison Ikkoku with Genting Lovelies...

Our brunch meeting after sunset at Maison Ikkoku. Hidden amongst the shop houses along Arab Street, there lies a 3-in-1 interesting combination - cafe, boutique and also a cocktail bar. Proudly present Maison Ikkoku.
We were so tired after a long walk from Bugis, luckily we have a pretty girl pushing the entrance door open for us!
Bloopers - Our reservations were not taken, in the end they still managed to give us a table, so still ok.
The interior decor of the restaurant was pretty minimalist, simple but not losing the its artistic flavour, yet have not wipe off the heritage of this old building structure.
The strong coffee aroma welcomes you and at a smell you know this is a good place to relax and enjoy a cuppa!
After I have taken my seat, this was what caught my eye!
Old Cabinets hanging on the ceiling, admire the bold and unique idea, but the next minute was thinking whether the cabinets are safely secured. Haha cause I sit under them, if they ever fall from the ceiling, I will be flat like prata.
Next discovery,
A former door is now our table. In case, you can't see it properly, it looks like this door here without the knob:

Thank you and Jealousy Post + TVB Series Review...

Well, I must thank Resort World Genting  and Stephanie, ever since they have featured the bloggers' experience to Genting, and because of some free advertisements from Stephanie's blog, my post on Genting trip itself have accumulated quite a number of views!! Muahahaha

We still do contact each other via Whatsapp and are organising a dinner together.  The reunion dinner for the Genting Cool Bloggers and Plus 1!

Talking about Stephanie, I am so jealous... She won the tickets to watch Starhub TVB Awards and a Nikon Camera! *Sobx I only can emo one corner!* Lucky Stephanie!!

This was the blogger contest that I asked her to join!! She get to go to the red carpet and watch the award ceremony plus might be able to go backstage! *Excited for her* Can see the Hong Kong artiste like Charmaine Sheh, Moses Chan, maybe Bosco Wong (wow!! so good right!)

I also got join but never got picked I guessed. Since the ceremony is this Sat and there are only 6 bloggers and me never receive any phone calls. Think my fate is only can buy my own camera and stay at home watch Hong Kong drama to see the stars loh...(Keep staring at phone, hoping Starhub calls me)

Just finish watching this Hong Kong Drama:

Three Kingdoms RPG  回到三國
It stars Kenneth Ma as Szema Shun(司馬信), a young game addict, who accidentally travels back 1,800 over years back to Three Kingdoms era of Chinese History where he met his idol and also his character in the game he was playing in modern times - Chukot Leung (諸葛亮) played by Raymond Lam.

Why should you catch this series?

  • Let me know more about Chinese History especially the Three Kingdoms where it is a very confusing period - conflicts were among nobles and warlords.
  • Reflect the morals of current society and how has it been falling away from the good traditional Chinese morals and beliefs
  • Very entertaining and funny
  • Cultivate and nurture correct moral values in younger generation which we lack today such as loyal, humble, respectful, down-to-earth, responsible, etc etc..
  • Trigger interest in viewers to learn more about Chinese history and such classic novels.
  • Learn about some of the famous chinese proverbs and idioms , how they came about (劉備借荊州——有借無還,  說曹操曹操就到 and 万事俱备,只欠东风 )
  • Learn about warfare strategies ( 三十六计 Thirty-Six Strategy which was used in warfare and could be applied in daily life. Some of the strategies used in the show are  无中生有,  明修栈道,暗渡陈仓, 苦肉計!
  • Twist in the ending
It kinda of make me feel more knowledgeable and wise lol! I learn about how we can benefit from traditional chinese teachings as well.

What I don't like?
  • I like that there is twist in the ending but also don't really like it
  • I think they could have elaborate more on the Fight at Red Cliff and other incidents during that era (think the series too short)
Logically brainy me says " Finally, a show with not so predictable ending, more practically perspective"
Emotionally dreamy me says " Why no good ending?"

Now I want to start watching Ghetto Justice 2 怒火街頭2!!

Genting Trip with Other Lovely Nuffnang Bloggers!! - All Work No PlayMakes Jack a Dull Boy!

Apart from the well known gambling scene on the peak where I made my very first WorldCard which my aunties would already have points in it enough to get them a complimentary stay in Genting.
Here's my overly bloated face on my card (the counter staff took it from bottom to top instead of the slimmer shot method top down Argh..)
But too bad, didn't get to the chance to try out to see if I have the beginner's luck. Maybe next time, but I did went for a walk around the casino. Saw the free refreshments so tempted to help myself with the milo lol...
What to do on a boring night? What about catching a blockbuster movie?
Cinema
Snack Bar

Went to watch these cute guys from Ice Age 4!! So funny the holy crab lol..
What are the perks of watching movie there? The 3D Premium Tickets cost only RM19 and comes with a snack (got free snack leh, I paid money at Singapore's cinema only got my ticket stub back)
What else is in store for us?
Midnight Bowling on these neon lit bowling alley. Cool right?
There is also KTV and Pool. Jiejie, Me, Sharon, Aunty, Mei Hui and Yvonne went to sing K on the second day. Right after watching Khalil Fong's concert, it is time for mine muahahahahaha...
What did I found in the KTV room?
A microphone with a polka dot shower cap on!
How can we forget the concert?
We bloggers were given complimentary tickets to watch Khalil Fong (honestly, he was a very strong pulling factor to why I have wanted to join this Foodie Tour)
So excited about the concert that I gone bonkers..
Haha just nice the bubble can cover my big butt lol! Look like Siao Char Bo (Mad and Distress Woman)
Obviously, I am not the only crazy ones...
A fly might be able to fly into Yvonne's mouth lol...With the light sticks I bought (intend to use it on Big Bang concert...cheapo me!)
Getting Sitting (See the venue before concert)
When the concert starts, the whole venue was filled with colourful lights very pretty (damn, my lousy camera can't really see how beautiful it was-another valid reason why I need a DSLR badly)
Khalil Fong with Fiona Sit (我对不起你们乡亲父老!Because of my lousy camera, you all can't see their faces clearly) But I do know some of our bloggers on this tour had superb camera and had filmed part of the concert which is obviously illegal haha... but because we want to show you the best we break the rules set! See how much we love you guys!

He sung one of my all time favourite song called Love Song
Love his R&B tunes, you hardly hear Chines have such smooth and soulful voice.

When we thought we are all gonna leave with the rest of the crowd...We were so so wrong. I think all of you will be so jealous of us - We have the backstage passes!! Woohoo seeing him in real so close (my first backstage pass *grinns*) And we managed to take a group photo with him
This is what you call so near and yet so far. 方大同 was drown in the crowd and looks a bit like the wax figurine you see in Madame Tussauds maybe due to the lighting and makeup ba! Lucky Ziwei and Leonard (lovely couple) are nearer to him. Mei Hui and Vonnie (Yvonne) both shook hands with him. *Jealous me!*
The jealous me was grabbing their hands when they said they shook hands with him lol!

After talking so much about activities at night, let's go for some activities in the day. Sorry ah.. Nocturnal animals like me introduce the night activities before day activities haha.

Peeps that still has that wild and playful child in you, theme park would most likely be your hangout place. There are a number of exciting rides not to be missed. One of it will be the Spaceshot.
It looks like a tower of terror right with the dark clouds shadowing it. But it was really fun. It feels exactly like jumping down a building, the moment without warning and you find your heart sunk with the fall and butts away from your seat.  Not for the faint-hearted. It is 185 feet tall and lifts up at 67km/h within seconds!

On the contrary, the joyful ride - Spinner
It looks like this when it spins...
Credits to Doods

It looks very different at night...
Credits to Emery
It rises up to 8 feet high and has 1500 bright lights on it.

How can we miss the cockscrew - the name sounds abit funny but it is a roller coaster ride that makes you overturn at 90 feet above ground and has a speed of 70km/h. Erm missed this ride though, can see a technician walking up the track? He is doing his routine checks at the moment.
Want to know how it feels like to be a superman? There are two rides that can fulfill your wish.
1. Flying Coaster (Outdoor Theme Park)
Credits Resort World Genting
2. Sky Venture (Indoor Theme Park)
Sorry folks to photos allowed so we only have a youtube video.
By the way, just to take note - for sky venture there a limited slots a day so have to book before hand and for the rides be it indoor or outdoors queue early or set aside more time for them. Waiting time is a killer on weekends.

If you think you are not young anymore or these rides are just not your cup of tea, you can also visit the strawberry farm, mushroom farm and lavender farm which many other fellow bloggers went.
Want to know more about the farm? Can visit their official webpage at
 http://www.gentingstrawberry.com/gentingstrawberry/visitus.htm
Heard they have a cafe that serves strawberry coffee. lol maybe I will visit it the next time I go Genting ba!

Good Food, Exciting Rides, wonder what is missing here? That will definitely be the new lovely friends
I meet on the trip! Fellow bloggers some famous some unknown like me, Nuffnang and Genting Staff. To thank them for making this trip so memorable and fun. It is like getting to know this City Above Clouds again.

Let me introduce the sweet and fun-loving group of peeps
Room mate 1

Room mate 2 "Amanda the act punk angry rabbit"
I think the fellow bloggers that happens to read this post will kill me. OS: Thank the stupid rabbit only? What about us?
